Lip Sync Battle Raging Success!!!!

22nd May 2017

What a Show!! The Lip Sync Battle in the Belmont Hotel on Friday 19 May, proved to be such a spectacular event.

We have a mantra here at St Marys Primary School ... and that is .... "WE ARE BETTER THAN NO ONE... BUT AS GOOD AS THE REST."

The results from the Lip Sync Battle reflect that!!!

It was a draw... it was equal .... the talent was such, that no outright winner could be declared .... There were no losers only Winners!!!!

We are thrilled that the children of St Mary's Primary School and Edenderry Primary School, were recognised for their fantastic performances on the night.

We were all winners.... we all took part, we all had fun, we all made memories... and most importantly we made a worthy celebration to the life of our dear friend, Mechelle Harshaw. A tragic loss of life is what brought our two communities together.... but little did we realise how much this event would bring us, at St Mary's Primary School community, even more close together... it galvanised friendships.... it injected fun, love and laughter into our school days.

We are so proud of all of our children today... every day and always.

To our friends at Edenderry...  words seem so inadequate and "thank you" seems so weak... but the emotion and highs of the event... have left us speechless. So, for now, thank you.

We hope you all enjoyed seeing a flavour of what St Mary's has to offer.... from our talented children, our dedicated parents and our fun loving, disco dancing, costume wearing staff.... what a team we have!!!! We bring out the best in each other. and as they say school days are the best days.

We wish to express our thanks to the wonderful judging panel, Melissa Masterson, David McKay, Paul Evans and Margaret Napier. It was no easy task!

A big shout out to St Mary's PTA, for their promotion of the event on their Face Book page and for the phenomenal coverage of what took place on the actual night. Miriam McAleavey at PTA HQ was one busy lady keeping us all updated.

Thank you, the public... the response and support from the Banbridge Community was outstanding; to the Belmont Hotel who hosted the Lip Sync Battle, to all those who offered financial sponsorship and provided us with prizes for our raffle, thank you; to Wesley Sawyer, the auctioneer, the sporting celebrities who donated personal items to the auction; Downshire Interiors/Fine Manor Arts who created beautiful frames for the Rory McIlroy and Rory Best signed tops... thank you!

Finally. Mechelle Harshaw, we were all blessed to have you grace our lives. We will hold precious memories of you in our hearts forever. We miss you sorely and we will love you eternally. You are an inspiration to us all. Your husband David, your three beautiful children, Alannah, Bradley and Allyssa, make you proud every day. They will never forget your love as a wife and as a mummy. Daisy Lodge Therapeutic Centre for Children with Cancer will benefit greatly from the financial funds raised on the night, as we paid tribute to you.  May you rest in peace Mechelle.. our dear friend.

All our Love... St Mary's Primary School xxx
