Trócaire

Thank you to all our parents and children for the fantastic support for our Trócaire campaign this year. The magnificent total of £2,600 was raised. A cheque will be presented to Fr. Crossan in the forthcoming weeks.

Confirmation

Congratulations to all our P7 children who were confirmed on Sunday 19 April at St Thérèse. All our children sang and read wonderfully.  Thank you to all the children who participated in the Choir and to our parents for their support. We are all very proud of all our children.  Thank you to Bridge Primary School for providing refreshments in the Parish Centre afterwards.

Pam Grimes

On behalf of the whole school community I would like to pay tribute to Pam Grimes who sadly passed away during the Easter break.  Pam worked as a supervisor at St Mary’s for more than 31 years and will be sadly missed by all the children and staff. Our thoughts and prayers are with Pam and her family.

Afterschool Club

If using the Afterschool Club please ensure that your child is booked into the Club in advance, as we may not be able to accommodate late bookings.

Spelling Bee

Congratulations to Ellie Gibbs who is this year's representative in the Spelling Bee County Final.  Well done to all who took part in primary seven.

Football Team Victory

Congratulations to the boys and girls school football teams. The boys comfortably won the EVO 7-aside tournament at Cheney Park prior to the Easter break, while the girls reached the semi-final of the EVO 7-aside tournament last week.

The boys performed fantastically, winning all their games during the tournament without conceding a goal.

Well done to all the girls but a special mention for Caitlin Devlin, Amy McPolin, Anna Murphy and Orlaith Smyth who all had an excellent tournament.

First Holy Communion will take place on in St Thérèse on Saturday 23 May at 11.00am.

Primary Placement

Primary 1 admission letters will be issued to parents on Wednesday 29 April. Post Primary admission letters will be issued by Education Authority, Southern Region on 23 May.

School Move

Thank you for your continued patience with regards to moving the remaining classrooms and children onto the St Patrick’s site.  We are hopeful that all remaining work will be completed in the next few weeks.

Please continue to use St Patrick‘s car park to drop children off in the morning. This is working well and alleviates traffic congestion on the Scarva Road. Parking is available at the 1.45pm and 2.45pm in St Patrick’s car park for afternoon pickups.

Friday Clubs

Friday Clubs for P5 to P7 children will continue on Fridays.

Netball and Table Tennis will take place in Banbridge Leisure Centre from 2.00pm to 3.45pm. Children not collected at the leisure centre may be picked up from the St Patrick’s site. Please note there will be no netball on Friday 8 May as the leisure is booked for election counting.

Football will now take place in St Patrick’s and Clann na Banna from 2.00pm to 3.30pm. Children will be escorted to the Afterschool School.

Gardening Club will commence on Friday 1 May from 1.45pm until 2.45pm.

Children are requested to bring £1 to their Club each Friday.

Shannaghmore Trip

Well done to all our P7 children who attended Shannaghmore Outdoor Education Centre last week. Shannaghmore staff remarked on how polite, mannerly and well behaved all the children were. The boys and girls had a terrific time. Well done everyone!

Sports Day

Our school Sports Day is planned for Friday 5 June at Cheney Park from 10am to 2pm. A letter detailing arrangements will be sent home the week of the Sports Day.
