Sacraments 

Congratulations to all our P4 and P7 children who made their Holy Communion and Confirmation over the past two weekends. All the children were fantastic and we are very proud of all of them. A special thanks to all the members of the choir for the fantastic singing at both services. 

School PTA

Thank you to our PTA for the fantastic support this year. Many thanks to all our parents who volunteered their time to help during the year. The PTA Annual General Meeting will take place on Tuesday 17th September at 7.30pm. New parents are encouraged to attend and stand for election. All support is greatly appreciated and all are welcome to attend. Parents and volunteers can contact our PTA via email at stmaryspta1@hotmail.co.uk.

Leavers' Disco

The PTA Leavers' Disco will take place on Friday 21st June from 7pm to 9pm in the school hall. Admission £3. 

School Cookbook

Unfortunately, due to a lack of support, the PTA has decided to postpone the publishing of the St. Mary's Cookbook until a later date. Thank you all our parents and children who already forwarded recipes, your efforts are greatly appreciated. These recipes will be kept and included when the Cookbook is revisited next year. 
Summer Scheme

Our School Summer Scheme will run again this year. The scheme will operate from 8.30am to 5.30pm daily from Monday 1st July to Friday 16th August. There will be no Summer Scheme during the week beginning 8th July. Each half day session will cost £8.00. A full day session will cost £15.00 and a full week placement will cost £70.00. Discounts will be available for families. Registration forms will be made available from next week.

Post Primary Placement

The Board will be issuing letters advising parents of the post primary school to which their child has been accepted on Friday 24th May 2013.

Board staff will be available to speak to parents on Saturday 25 May 2013 between 2.00pm and 4.00pm to confirm placement details only. The contact numbers are 028 3751 2520 and 028 3741 0084.

School Closures

School is closed on Monday 27th May for the Bank Holiday and Tuesday 28th May for Teacher Training.

Post Property

There is a substantial number of jumpers, coats, tracksuits etc. in the school's Lost Property in the office. Please feel free to come to the office and check if your child has misplaced any clothing. 

Paper Airplane Challenge

Well done to all the entrants in Paper Airplane Challenge. It proved to be very popular. The year group winners were;

P5 - Scott Henry 
P6 - Patrick Curran

Congratulations to Scott Henry, our overall Paper Airplane Challenge winner. Well done Scott.

St. Mary's Got Talent

Application forms remain available for our St. Mary's Got Talent. Auditions and rehearsals will take place shortly. A date for the final will be set in due course.

School Sports Day 

This year our annual Sports Day is planned for Friday 7th June at Cheney Park, commencing at 10am and finishing by 2.30pm. However we will move Sports Day to Friday 31st May if there is a period of good weather to avoid the postponements of last year. We will keep you informed and a letter with further details will be issued closer to the date.

Inline Hockey Club

Well done to all children who took part in the STAR Inline Hockey Celebration Day will on Monday at Craigavon Leisure Centre. The children represented the school fantastically. 

Induction Meetings

The Playgroup Induction Meeting will take place on Wednesday 29th May 2013 in the Playgroup from 7pm. 

The Reception Class Induction Meeting will take place on Wednesday 29th May 2013 in the Reception Class from 7.30pm.

The Nursery Induction Meeting will take place on Thursday 30th May 2013 in the Nursery from 7.30pm.

The Primary 1 Induction Meeting will take place in the school assembly hall on Wednesday 5th June 2013 at 7.30pm.


Non-Uniform Day

A Non-Uniform Day will take place on Friday 24th May to raise funds for NSPCC and Cancer Research. All children are asked to donate 1 pound to these worthy causes.
