Move Update 11 April 2015

11th Apr 2015

10 April 2015

Dear Parents

Unfortunately, work on the two mobile classroom blocks at St Patrick’s will not be completed for Monday 13 April. Therefore, the contingency arrangements outlined in my letter dated 25 March 2015 will now be in place.

Children from the Junior and Senior Learning Support classes, our Autism Specific class, the Nursery, Miss Duffy’s P2 class, Mrs Moore’s P2 class, Mrs Austin’s P3 class, Mrs Devlin’s P3 class and the Playgroup will return to school at St Mary’s to their original classrooms.  School will commence at 8.45am for everyone and the revised school end times will remain in place. A reminder of the school end times and arrangements at St Patrick’s can be found below. Breakfast Club and Afterschool Club will continue to operate on the St Mary’s site. Children will be escorted/bussed between the two sites. School meals will be made available to those children remaining on the St Mary’s site.

On Monday children arriving at the St Patrick’s site will go straight to class from 8.30am. There will be no access to the back of the school as work is continuing on site. Members of staff will be positioned to ensure safe access and to show children where to go from 8.30am. We will continue to operate a dual site until the mobile classrooms are completely finished, safe and secure to occupy. We hope this will only take a few weeks.

Please be aware we still do not have phone access but we can receive emails. This should be rectified by BT shortly. In the meantime you can contact the main office on either of the following mobile numbers 07719138529 or 07719138530.  My apologies for any disruption caused but this is completely outside the school’s control. Thank you for your understanding.

Yours sincerely

 D O’Hagan

Principal

St Marys arrangements at St Patrick’s from Monday 13 April

To avoid traffic congestion at St Patrick’s and any bottlenecks on the Scarva Road, St Mary’s school day will commence 15 minutes earlier at 8.45am.

Playgroup will finish at 12.35pm.

Nursery will finish at 1.15pm.

P1 to P3 pupils will finish at 1.45pm.

P5 to P7 will finish at 2.45pm.

After School Club will operate as normal.

Parents may use St Patrick’s car park to drop children off in the morning before 8.45am. Parking will not be permitted. Please follow the one way system and use the allocated drop-off parking bays. Please note you will only be able to turn left on exiting St Patrick’s onto the Scarva Road. Members of St Mary’s staff will be in the car park and will be positioned along the entrance pathway to the playground. There is no parking in St Patrick’s car park. This is for St Patrick’s staff ONLY.  Parents wishing to walk with third child to their line should park in St Therese’s car park.

Please be aware adult access to the school building will only be via St Mary’s Main Entrance marked in yellow. Please press the buzzer at the entrance to gain entry.  There is no access to St Mary’s through St Patrick’s. Late children must enter through the Main Entrance. For security reasons parents will not be allowed to escort their child to their class through the school. Office staff will, if necessary, bring late children to their class.

Please note only children booked into the Afterschool can be guaranteed a place. We can no longer guarantee children a place if parents ring on the day wishing their child to attend.
