Parent Consultations  

Parent Consultations for P1 to P7 will take place during the week beginning Monday 26th November between 1.30pm and 4.30pm. Please note the school will not be issuing NINA and NILA data to parents until the data is verified and standardised in February 2013. Parents who wish to be supplied with a copy of NINA and NILA data now should request this of their child's teacher prior to the meeting.

School will finish at 1.30pm each day during the week. The After School Club will be open to 6pm to assist parents with childcare arrangements.

If your child/ren does/do not attend the After School Club on a regular basis and you wish to avail of this facility during Parent Consultation Week, please contact the school office to register your child/ren before Friday 23rd November.

Fit To Help

Thank you to everyone for the amazing support shown to our sponsored "Fit To Help" event, organised by Mr McGrane, to help raise school funds. The raffle will be held during the week beginning Monday 19th November. This is to allow time for children to return their sponsor cards and any outstanding money. All returned sponsor cards will be entered into the raffles and each child will receive a Fit To Help wrist band. 

Puffin Crossing

Southern Traffic & Transportation Section has confirmed the provision of a pedestrian guard rail on the footpath adjacent to St Therese's Church. It is anticipated that this work will be completed before Christmas.

Astronomy Club 

St. Mary's Astronomy Club will commence on Thursday 22nd November from 3pm to 5pm. Spaces are limited and preference will be given to P7 children. Please contact Julie in the office for further information, or to register your child's interest.

Christmas Dates

The Primary 6 Christmas Play will take place on Tuesday 18th December at 7pm. A matinee performance will take place at 11.15am. 

The P1, P2 and P3 Nativity Performance will take place on Thursday 20th December at 7pm. A matinee performance will take place at 11.15am. 

School will close on Friday 21st December at 11.15am for the Christmas break. School will reopen for children on Tuesday 8th January. 

Communion

Confirmation for P7 children will take place on Sunday 5th May at 3pm in St. Therese.

First Communion for P4 children will take place on Saturday 11th May 2012 at 11am in St. Therese. 

School Council

Our 2012 School Council and Eco Councils are now established. Representatives from P4 to P7 have been elected by their classroom peers and will meet regularly with Mr Mackle to look at ways of improving our school. Our Eco Council with representatives from P2 to P7 will meet with Mrs Comiskey to put in place environmentally friendly routines throughout the school.

St. Mary's Open Night

St. Mary's Open Night for prospective parents of Nursery, Playgroup and Primary 1 children will take place on Wednesday 12th December 2012 from 7p.m. to 8.30pm.

School PTA

Thank you for the great turnout at the Halloween Disco. £572.28 was raised for the PTA. Thank you to the PTA who purchased new Visualisers and Reading Scheme for the school. This is greatly appreciated by all the children and staff.

Are you new to our school or to the Banbridge area? Why not come along to our Coffee Morning on Friday 16th November in Mrs McArdle's room. Everyone is welcome!

Movie Night - 'Arthur Christmas' in the school hall on Friday 14th December. Doors open at 6.30pm. The movie will be finished by 8.45pm. Tickets will go on sale soon.

Giving Machine

Please think of your child's school when shopping online. Please use TheGivingMachine website when ordering online. There is no charge to you as a shopper. There is great potential to raise significant funds for our school. Please inform your family and friends. 

Farewell Fr. Corr

Farewell to Fr. Tony who leaves his role as Chaplin to St. Mary's to take up his new position in Newry Parish. We all wish him every success in Newry. Good luck and God bless from all at St. Mary's.

Banbridge Arts Festival

Good luck to all our children who have entered The Banbridge Arts Festival this week. Thank you to Karen Turner of the PTA for her help preparing and rehearsing with our children. 

Book Fair

The Book Fair will be at St. Mary's from Monday 26th November until Friday 30th November. 

Children from each class will have an opportunity to view and purchase books during the school day. Parents are welcome to view books with their children from 1.30pm until 4pm each day.
