Fit To Dance

Thank you to everyone for the amazing support shown to our sponsored “Fit To Help” event, organised by Mr McGrane, to help raise school funds. The raffle will be held for both Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 on Monday 17th November. This is to allow time for children to return their sponsor cards and any outstanding money. All returned sponsor cards will be entered into the raffles.

School PTA

Thank you for the fantastic turnout at the Halloween Disco. Thank you to all our PTA members and parents who were able to attend. £916.00 was raised at the disco.

Thank you to our PTA who donated £3,000 which will be match funded by the school to purchase 20 new ipads for use throughout the school.  This is greatly appreciated by all.

Extraordinary  General Meeting - A PTA EGMwill take place at 7.30pm on Wednesday 26th November 2014 in the school to re-elect the PTA Committee. This is to comply with the Charity Commission statutory regulations with regards to the formation and operation of a PTA group.

Frock Swap – The PTA Frock Swap will take place in the Coach from 7.30pm on Thursday 4th December. Please check the school website for details.

Clann Na Banna

The Clann Na Banna indoor programme takes place each Thursday at St. Patrick’s School from 6.30pm to 7.45pm.

New School

Due to various delays in the procurement and tender process, we will not be moving to St Patrick’s at Christmas. Although mobile classrooms were moved onto the St Patrick’s site in July, additional works were not completed. The earliest date now for our move will be Easter 2015.

Credit Union

The Credit Union commenced this week. A letter will be issued to parents of P1 children who may wish to join next week.

St Mary’s Open Night

St Mary’s Open Night, for prospective parents of Nursery, Playgroup and Primary 1 children will take place on Thursday 4th December 2014 from 6.30pm to 8pm. Please note only the above mentioned classes and our Autism Specific Class and Junior Learning Support Class will be open on the evening.

Christmas Dates

The P7 Christmas Assembly will take place on Tuesday 9th December at 11.15am. An afternoon performance will take place at 1.30pm.

The P1 and P3 Christmas Assembly will take place on Tuesday 16th December at 11.15am. An afternoon performance will take place at 1.00pm.

The P2 Nativity Performance will take place on Thursday 18th December at 7.00pm. A morning and afternoon performance will take place at 10am and 1pm.

P6 Parents Post-Primary Meeting

A meeting for P6 parents regarding the post primary transfer procedure will take place on Tuesday 18th November at 7.30pm in the school hall.

Cheque Presentation

Cheques totaling £800 were presented to Action Cancer and Cancer Focus this month following the fantastic success of our Coffee Morning and Pink Day.

Astronomy Club

St Mary’s Astronomy Club will commence on Wednesday 19th November from 3pm to 4.30pm. Spaces are limited and preference will be given from to P7 to P5 children. Please contact Julie in the office for further information or to register your child’s interest.

Banbridge Arts Festival

Well done to all our children who entered the Banbridge Arts Festival last week. Over 160 children from St. Mary’s entered the festival this year with over 70 children receiving a certificate, medal or trophy. Thank you to Mrs Convery and to Karen Turner, from our PTA, for helping to prepare and to rehearse with our children.

Parent Governor

The school has not received any nominations for parent Governor. Nomination forms will be reissued next week. If any parent is interested in the position of Parent Governor but would like to discuss the role or requires information about the role please contact Mr O’Hagan.
