First Penance

Well done to all our P4 children who made their First Penance last Thursday evening in the Church of St Therese. All the children read and sang wonderfully. Thank you to all our parents and families who were able to attend this very important event in the lives of our P4 children.

Thank you for the great turnout at our Maths Puzzle Challenge. This was a great evening for all the children and families. Thank you to our PTA for sponsoring the event.

Cancer Awareness Pink Day

Thank you for the fantastic support at our PTA Coffee Morning and for our Pink Day for Cancer Awareness. A total of £797.59 was raised by the parents and children for the Macmillan Trust. A presentation will be made in the forthcoming weeks.

The next meeting of the PTA will take in the school at 7.30pm on Tuesday 4th November.

Happy Halloween

A non-uniform day will be held on Friday 24th October. Children are asked to donate £1 towards School Fund. Children may dress up in Halloween costumes if they wish.

Cross Country

Well done to all the boys and girls who participated in the first Cross Country race at Lurgan last week.  After race one of the new season the boys top the  school league table following brilliant performances from Ryan Meara who was first home for St Mary’s boys, finishing 9th out of 168 competitors  and Amy McPolin who was first home for the girls. The next race will take place in Armagh next term.

Parent Teacher Meetings

Parent Teacher Meetings will take place on Monday 27th and Tuesday 28th October from 9.00am. Please contact your child’s teacher to make an appointment if you have not already done so.

School Closures

School will be closed for children from Monday 27th October to Friday 1st November (inclusive) for the midterm break.

Fit To Dance

Our ‘Fit to Dance’ fundraiser this year will take place on Thursday 23rd and Friday 24th October. Each child has been issued a sponsorship form prior to the event. On return of the sponsor form and sponsor money each child will be entered into a school raffle.  With your support we hope there will be a great response to our school’s fundraising event.

Credit Union

The Credit Union will commence after Halloween. A letter will be issued to parents of P1 children who may wish to join.

School Parking

Please take care when parking at the school. There have been various complaints from parents and local residents regarding unsafe parking and parents inappropriately using the school car park. Parents are reminded not to use the school car park, this is a staff car park only, parents should also avoid parking in Reilly Park.  Please use the car park at St Therese or drop children at Reilly Street (school side) so as children can walk to school. This will avoid congestion in Reilly Park at peak times.

Halloween Disco

A Halloween Disco organised by our PTA, will take place in the school hall on Friday 24th October from 7.00pm to 9.00pm.  Children may dress up in Halloween costumes if they wish. Prizes for the best dressed. Admission is £3 payable at the door.
