School Fund

In previous years we have asked parents to make a donation to our school fund to help pay for school resources, playground equipment and school improvements. This year has proved to be a very expensive year for the school considering the associated costs with moving premises which the school has incurred. Therefore, we actively encourage parents to make a contribution of £20 per child or £30 per family to our School Fund. This can be paid weekly, monthly or as one payment by using the payment slip overleaf. Many thanks in advance.

Coffee Morning

Our annual PTA Coffee Morning will take place in the school hall on Friday 25th September from 8.45am to 11.00am. All parents are invited to attend especially our new parents in P1 and pre-school to meet members of our PTA and members of staff. Donations will be collected for MacMillan Cancer Support.

The next PTA meeting will take place on Tuesday 6th October at 7.30pm in the school. Our school PTA are organising a trip to Kildare Village on Saturday 14th November. Details are available on the school website.

Fit To Dance

Our ‘Fit to Dance’ annual school fundraiser, will take place on Wednesday 21st and Thursday 22nd October. Each child will be issued a sponsorship form prior to the event. On return of the form and sponsor money each child will be entered into a school raffle. With your support we hope there will be a great response to our school’s fundraising event.

Parent Workshops

This year we will be hosting a series of Parent Workshops in Literacy, Maths and Dealing with Children’s Challenging Behaviour.

Our Literacy workshops are for parents of children in P2 to P4 commencing 8th October at 7.30pm. Our Maths workshops are for parents of children in P4 to P6 commencing 14th October at 7.30pm. A letter with details will be issued shortly. The Dealing with Children’s Challenging Behaviour will be organised by ParentingNi and will be limited to a maximum of 15 participants and will run for 6 weeks, full details will follow in due course.

On Thursday 1st October at 7.30pm in the school hall, Alex McCandless, Nutritionist and Weight Management Specialist, will give a talk on healthy eating and childhood obesity. A reminder letter will be issued next week.

Parking

Please continue to use St Therese’s car park to avoid congestion on the Scarva Road. There is limited parking available in St Patrick’s car park. The drop off arrangements are working well and we would encourage parents to either park in St Therese’s car park, if you wish to escort your child to the school playground, or use the supervised drop off points in St Patrick’s car park.

First Penance

First Penance for our P4 children will take place on Thursday 15th October at 7pm in the Church of St Therese. Children should be seated by 6.50pm. First Holy Communion will take place at 11.00am on Saturday 21st May.
