A Message From The Heart Primary 2 Mrs Quigley
Valentine. a priest from Italy lived over one thousand years ago. At the time, Rome was ruled by the Emperor Claudius. The Emperor wanted the men of his country to fight in wars for him but the men did not want to leave their wives and families.
Claudius came up with a plan: he forbade the men and women to marry.
Valentine, who was close to God and saw God's love in those around him, wed the couples in secret, thus putting his own life at risk. Eventually, Valentine was arrested and captured. He was killed by the Emperor's guards on the 14 February.
We remember those we love on St Valentine's Day and show them we love them with cards, flowers or chocolates.
Primary 2 send a heart-filled message of love to their families!
