Awe and Wonder: Soap Bubble Prints in Mrs Quigley's Primary 2 class.
We love to discover and learn about the world around us.
Today we had to investigate what would happen if we mixed paint, water and washing up liquid in a tray. When we mixed it all together, we placed straws into the liquid and began to blow! We were very careful not to suck up through the straw!!! We moved our straws around and created bubbles. When the tray was full of bubbles we took a sheet of white paper and laid it carefully on top of the tray pressing down gently. When we lifted it off we could see a print of the bubbles created on the page.
Why did this happen???? The paint in the mixture created coloured bubbles when we blew air into the liquid. These bubbles got sucked into the paper, leaving a print. How AMAZING is that???
