Ice Balloons
We filled balloons with water and put an Arctic animal inside the balloon. We put them into the freezer. We predicted that the water would freeze and turn to ice. The animals would be trapped.
We added food colouring to the ice and watched it change colour. We looked at the ice with magnifying glasses.
We saw lots of cracks in the ice and drew a picture of what it looked like.
We wanted to investigate the effect of salt on ice; we noticed the salt helped to melt the ice quicker.
Our predictions were right. The ice melted and the animals were released.
