FROZEN!!! Ice Balloons Primary 2 Mrs Quigley
When we took the water balloons out of the freezer, the water had turned to ice. The balloons were rock hard. We peeled the balloon off the frozen shape to reveal the most beautiful piece of ice. Using magnifying glasses, we were able to see the detail inside the ice: a work of art! They were heavy and extremely slippy. They were sliding about the trays and we could see the ice slowly beginning to melt.
We took spoons, wooden hammers and rolling pins to the ice balloons and thumped them, breaking the ice into smaller pieces. We took the ices pieces outside and watch to see what happened to the ice when it was thrown onto the ground.
Scientific Findings: We know that ice can freeze and melt.
