Our topic for November is Pets. We have set up a veterinary surgery in our role play area, where children have had the opportunity to explore the role of a vet, a vet's assistant and the customer. It has proved a huge success and provided quality learning experiences for the children. It has been the anchor for language and communication, science, and mathematics and numeracy.
This topic has captured the children's interest and they have become very involved in this topic; therefore, the learning is deeper and richer. The children are demonstrating higher levels of perserverance with tasks and challenges.
