Last year, eight girls (Annie, Aoibhín, Aoife, Chloé in P6 and Maya, Sophia, Heidi and Lucy in P7) were selected to attend training for an exciting new programme funded by ABC Council and the Youth Sport Trust. The Girls Active programme focuses on increasing girls' participation in physical activity and sport.
The girls have had several meetings to plan a school display including posters and a motto, and activities for the year. We were delighted to welcome coaches from ABC Council to facilitate a special Christmas Challenge PE session for our P6 and P7 girls. The children had a fantastic time taking part in warm-up games, relay races and dances. A big thank you to Amanda for helping the girls organise this event and to the ABC Council coaches for delivering engaging and fun sessions.
The Girls ActiveLeaders are excited to lead some of these games and dances with their peers during lunchtime sessions for P6 and P7 girls on Tuesdays and Thursdays after the Christmas break.
