St Patrick’s Open Night
St Patrick’s College Open Night will take place on Thursday 15th January 2015. Principal’s Address at 7.30 p.m. All P7 children and parents are encouraged to attend.
Open Enrolment
Application forms for Playgroup, Nursery and P1 must be submitted to the school office before 12.00 noon on Wednesday 14th January. After this application forms will be treated as ‘late’. Please contact the school office for a form or information regarding the application process.
Santa’s Visit
On Wednesday 15th December children from the Playgroup, Nursery, P1, P2 and P3 classes were greeted by a surprise visitor, Santa Claus, who distributed gifts to the children. Many thanks and our appreciation to Barney Green who was able to assist us on the day.
Friday Clubs
Friday Clubs for P5 to P7 children will begin on Friday 9th January.
Netball and Table Tennis will take place in Banbridge Leisure Centre from 2.00pm to 3.45pm.
Football will take place in Cheney Park from 2.00pm to 4.00pm.
Indoor Bowls Club, The Fabulous Food Club and Art and Craft Club will take place in school from 2.00pm until 3pm.
Children are requested to bring £1 each Friday to cover the costs of facilities.
School PTA
The next meeting of our PTA will take place on Tuesday 13th January at 7.30pm. All support is greatly appreciated.
Thank you for the fantastic support at the Tesco Bag Pack and at the Frock Swap before Christmas, over £1,800 was raised from both events.
School Move
I am delighted to confirm that contracts for the decant works at St Patrick’s were signed prior to the Christmas holiday. All work to enable St Mary’s to move to the St Patrick’s site is due to be completed by 20th March. It is anticipated that we will move premises before the Easter break. Please note the school will close early before Easter to enable the move to take place. Confirmed dates and arrangements will be made known as soon as possible. Information meetings will be held in March to ensure parents are fully informed of access arrangements and class location etc.
Photographs

Credit Union
The Credit Union commence next week on Wednesday 14th January.
Cross Country
Well done to our Cross Country team who took part in the second race at Armagh before Christmas. Well done to Orlaith Norrby, Cara Henning and Eimear Ferris and to Ryan Meara, Taylor Hill and Michael Wood who were the first girls and boys home for St Mary’s. Good luck to all our girls and boys in their third race next Wednesday.
Cheque Presentation
A cheque for £1,000 was presented to The St Vincent de Paul Society this week. Thank you for the fantastic support at all our Christmas assemblies and performances.
Parent Governor
Congratulations to Kiera Groves who was elected as Parent Representative to the School Board of Governors. A special word of thanks to Briege McMullan, our outgoing Parent Governor, who served on the Board of Governors for the past 4 years.
After School Clubs
Michael Feeney’s coaching will commence on Tuesday 13th January for P2 to P3 from 2pm to 3pm and for P4 to P7 pupils from 3pm to 4pm.
Paul Evans soccer coaching will begin on Wednesday 14th January for P1 to P3 from 2pm to 3pm and for P4 to P7 pupils from 3pm to 4pm.
Fun Fit will commence on Monday 12thJanuary for P1 to P3 from 2pm to 3pm and for P4 to P7 pupils from 3pm to 4pm. Please note Fun Fit will take place in the school canteen.
Speech and Drama Club will commence on Thursday 15thJanuary for P1 to P3 from 2pm to 3pm and for P4 to P7 pupils from 3pm to 4pm.
ASC Fundraiser
Thank you to Matthew Burke and his friends who, over the Christmas Holiday, raised £160 for our Autism Specific Class. Thank you for the kind donation.
Half Term
School will be closed from Monday 16th February to Friday 20 February 2015 for the half term holiday.
