First Holy Communion
Congratulations to all our P4 children who made their First Holy Communion. All the children read and sang fantastically. We are very proud of them all. A special thank you to all the members of the choir who sang wonderfully on Saturday and all the staff involved who helped make this a special day.
P7 Leavers’ Awards
Our Primary 7 Leavers’ Awards will take place on Tuesday 23 June in the school hall from 11.00am. All P7 parents are invited to attend. This will be our Primary 7 pupils final day at St Mary’s before their school trips. Our P7 children’s final day will be Thursday 25 June.
On behalf of the Board of Governors and all the staff at St Mary’s I wish all our Primary 7 pupils every success and best wishes in their post-primary schools.
St Mary’s World Cup
The St Mary’s Football World Cup will take place at Clann na Banna on Thursday 18June from 10.00am to 2.30pm. Parents are welcome to come along and support their child.Thank you to Mr McGrane, Mr Mackle and Mr Devlin for organising the soccer throughout the year and taking the children to the matches and tournaments.
School Funday
A School Funday will take place on Sunday 14 June from 2.00pm to 5.00pm. The school will be open from 1.00pm to 2.00pm to allow parents an opportunity to see the building and view our new classes. There will be lots of different activities, stalls and events; including bouncy castles, football and Gaelic mini tournaments, penalty and netball shoots, music, a Car Boot sale and lots more from 2.00pm onwards.
A non-uniform day will take place as part of our fundraising on Friday 13 June.
Our PTA request donations of good quality books, jigsaws, board games etc. for a stall at the summer Funday. The PTA will have boxes beside the tuck-shop to collect any donations on Sports Day on Friday. Thank you in advance of any donations.
League Winners 2015
Congratulations to the Boys’ Football Team who are the joint overall winners of the EVO 7-aside Banbridge League. The League trophy is shared with Abercorn who finished joint top of the league with St Mary’s after a goalless draw in the final of the last tournament at Cheney Park. Thank you to Mr Mackle, Mr Devlin and Mr McGrane Thank you to Mr McGrane, Mr Mackle and Mr Devlin for organising the soccer throughout the year and taking the children to the matches and tournaments.
Gaelic League 2015
Well done to all the children who took part in our school Gaelic League. This year saw some thrilling football and magnificent games. Thank you to Mr McGrane, Mr Mackle and Mr Devlin for organising the Gaelic Football throughout the year and taking the children to matches and tournaments. Congratulations to Ballyvalley on winning the 2015 Gaelic League after a terrific and very close final.
Good luck to the school Gaelic Team who reached the semi-final of the schools Gaelic League after defeating St Mary’s Newcastle. Well done to all. Good luck in the semi-final.
Enrolment Service
Congratulations to all our P3 children who took part in their Enrolment Service at St Thérèse last Thursday morning.
Parking
Parents are reminded not to use Clann na Banna for parking, dropping off or collections. This is for staff parking only. Please take extra care when entering and exiting St Patrick’s car park as children may be crossing or walking through the car park. Please use St Thérèse car park if escorting your child/ren to school.
Netball Tournament
Congratulations to all the girls who took part in the annual school netball tournament last on Friday. Thank you to Mrs Moore, Mrs Austin and Miss Duffy for organising the Netball Club throughout the year.
Sports Day
Our school Sports Day is planned for Friday 5 June at Cheney Park from 10.00am to 2.00pm. A letter detailing arrangements will be sent home later this week. Let’s hope for good weather.
Leavers’ Disco
The PTA Leavers’ Disco will take place on Friday 19 June from 7pm to 9pm in the school hall. Admission £3 each.
Friday Clubs
All Friday Clubs for P5 to P7 are now finished.
Gardening Club will continue on until the end of term.
School PTA
The Annual General Meeting of our PTA will take place on Tuesday 23 June at 7.30pm in the school hall. All parents are welcome to attend.
Summer Scheme
Please return your child’s Summer Scheme Registration form to your child’s teacher or the school office as soon as possible.
Dates
P1 Parent Induction Meeting Tuesday 9 June at 7.30pm in the school hall.
Playgroup Parent Induction Meeting in the new Playgroup (St Patrick’s site) at 6.30pm.
Nursery Induction Meeting in the new Nursery (St Patrick’s site) at 7.30pm.
The Playgroup and Nursery will close on Friday 19 June.
