Congratulations to our St Mary's A team on winning the January, Evo League 7 a-side competition at Cheney Park on Thursday. This puts the boys back in contention to win the league outright.
The boys qualified for the final after an undefeated league section and winning the coin toss after a tight draw with Tandragee in the semi-final.
In a nip and tuck final St Mary’s equalised with only minutes to go thanks to a great run from effort from Jack Mooney. With almost the last kick of the game Eoin Malone scored a spectacular volley to win the final outright. Well done to, player of the tournament, Harry Eakins, Conal Hill, Lee Andrews and Oisisn Gartland who all had an excellent tournament.
Our B team played very well in their league section reaching their final in style with great performances from James Kearney, Josh Burke, Charlie Mulligan and, goalkeeper of the tournament, Jacob McAnearney. After a comfortable victory in the semi-final against Edenderry B the boys faced a much tougher game in the final, losing 3-0.
All the boys played fantastically well throughout the competition. Well done to all the boys!
