Sports Day 2019 - Cheney Park on Friday 7th June
Dear Parents,
Our School Sports Day will take place at Cheney Park on Friday 7th June commencing at 9.45am sharp. Parents are requested to accompany their child/ren there, if at all possible. There will be a small Admission Fee of £1 per adult to help cover expenses incurred.
The weather forecast indicates that it is to be a warm, cloudy day on Friday with the possibility of showers. However, we strongly advise that all children have a number of drinks and sunscreen. We also suggest that each child wears a suitable hat for protection from the sun and if parents wish to bring a deck-chair, please feel free to do so.
Due to limited parking facilities at Cheney Park, we ask parents to use the Coach car park and walk to the pitch. Please do not park on the road leading into Cheney Park as this can obstruct emergency vehicles. Residents have requested that parking bays be kept free.
Children should take a snack and a drink with them for their break. School dinners will not be available on the day. Children should bring a packed lunch which they can eat when their class is not participating in events. Parents are welcome to bring food from the burger van to their children. There will be a PTA shop, ice cream van and First Aid on the pitch side for the day, please see our ‘Pitch Plan’ for the location of the races etc. All races will be announced on the PA system. Please remind your child to use the bins available for any rubbish.
Please remind your child that he/she must remain with his/her class teacher during the day. Children are not allowed to leave the grounds for any reason. At the end of the day please inform your child’s teacher before taking your child home.
We hope to conclude Sports Day by 1.30pm. Children from P1 to P3 may go home directly if their parents are in attendance when their events are finished (approx.12.45pm). Children whose parents are not in attendance will be escorted back to the After School Club. P4 to P7 children may go home directly from Cheney Park after Sports Day.
Please note children may wear their own clothes for the day. Breakfast Club and After School Club will be open as normal on Friday for parents unable to attend on the day. Children arriving at school for 8.45am will be escorted to Cheney by his/her teacher.
Please remember Sports Day is a FUN day. Wishing you all an enjoyable Sports Day!
