Our children in our Learning Support classes and Autism Specific class welcomed Tobi & Peanut, local therapy ponies, to St Mary's! Equine Therapy is proven to have a great impact in helping children to develop their skills in self-regulation and managing anxieties. Throughout the program Understanding Emotions, the children were involved in chatting about their feelings while grooming, petting, feeding and walking the ponies. They listened to their heartbeats and learned how to lead them and take them through obstacle courses. They loved listening to the story Peanut Got His Sparkle Back and everyone received a certificate and a rosette for being wonderful well-being ambassadors!
