What does the Statutory Process mean?

Under guidance by the EA Educational Psychology Service, the school will exhaust and deploy all resources available at Stage 1 and Stage 2 of the Code of Practice and whole school provision to support a pupil’s needs.

Only if this ceases to be effective, the school liaises with EA Educational Psychology Service for consideration of statutory assessment. It is school procedure and strongly recommended that parents seek guidance from the SENCo before considering initiating a direct statutory assessment. See EA Statutory Process Leaflet for information.
